Sir, - There is one remarkable thing about Dr Sean Farren's somewhat self-congratulatory article on the 30th anniversary of the foundation of the SDLP (The Irish Times, August 19th). There is not one reference by name to two leading founder-members of the party: Lord Fitt and the late Paddy Devlin. Does Dr Farren really believe in the Stalinist airbrushing of his party's history? - Yours, etc.,
