Madam, - Many people are familiar with Agar's Lane in Cashel and know of the Archbishop who is reputed to have built the lane beside the Georgian cathedral and the cathedral itself. On Agar's tomb in Westminster Abbey is an effigy of the cathedral.
Archbishop Agar was keenly involved in Cashel affairs. A number of interested people are planning a commemorative festival for 2009 to mark the 200th anniversary of his death.
We would be interested in hearing from anyone of the name "Agar" and from anyone with information relating to Archbishop Charles Agar.
