Madam, - I watched the utterly depressing RTÉ Prime Time investigation into Ireland's teenage criminals broadcast on December 1st. Here we have a clearly frustrated public, terrorised and tortured, caught between a lack of political will on one hand and a Ranelagh dinner party liberalism on the other.
One has to ask: with the continuing prospect of nothing else being done to protect persons or property, when will the Government think about legislation to allow Irish citizens the legal right to bear arms, as in the United States of America? - Yours, etc.,
