Sir, - European countries are among the world's leading arms exporters. We stand by collectively while slaughter takes place within the walls of our own house. Our attitudes and policies towards the majority world and its citizens continue to be exploitative and often racist.
In spite of all that, the arrest of Pinochet is a good deed in a world gone mad. Dictators and murderers, however powerful their international friends and apologists, should not be allowed to die in their own beds.
