Sir, - I refer to the interview with Patrick Murphy (February 29th). Considering recent events in Merrion Square, should we be concerned that the new Chairman of the Arts Council expresses a passion for bloodsports, and possesses considerable skill with a rifle, and this in the hands of a man who nonchalantly states that one could easily spend £250 "in a weekend drinking".
