Sir, - Referring to asylum-seekers entering Ireland, Áine Ní Chonaill asks if Northern Ireland is "like everywhere, happy to pass the parcel" (May 27th).
I deplore the use of this dehumanising language, and refer Ms Ní Chonaill to Article 6 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948: "Everyone has the right to recognition everywhere as a person before the law."
On another note, in the game of "Pass the Parcel", isn't the one left holding the parcel the winner? - Yours, etc.,
