Sir, – It has been a while since I read a piece of writing that made me feel proud to be Irish. What a warm and generous tribute Dr Eckhard Lübkemeier (Opinion & Analysis, July 28th), departing German ambassador to Ireland, paid to the country he called home for the past three years.
