Sir, – Senator Averil Power has a peculiar way of appreciating her boss’s generosity in securing a seat for her in Seanad Éireann. She demonstrated utter disloyalty to Micheál Martin and indeed the whole Fianna Fáil party. Selecting her as the sole candidate to run for the general election in Dublin Bay North would have meant running roughshod over the other eligible candidates.
She should now vacate her Independent seat in the Seanad. – Yours, etc,
