Sir, - We, the general public, are now learning of the wrong-doings of Charles Haughey while in politics. I presume that no decent person can condone what he has done.
Can a decent person, however, condone the treatment that he received while in Cork on Saturday? Do we accept that name-calling, jeering and booing by a crowd of an individual, any individual, is reasonable behaviour? I, for one,(who has never, ever voted Fianna Fail) thank Dick Hogan for stating that it was difficult for and courageous of Mr Haughey to go to Cork. - Yours, etc.,
Cara Quinn, Knocknahur, Sligo.
