JACK NAGLE,
Sir, - Congratulations on your high-minded Editorial (February 9th), "A Bad Week for Ireland Inc", in which you write: "Considering everything that has happened this week, one might ask if there is some widespread systemic weakness in Irish management culture. Looking back just12 months to corporate debacles such as Baltimore Technologies and Eircom, only seems to confirm such a view."
May I respectfully suggest that no such list would be complete without an entry from your good selves. If your focus is truly on the "systemic weakness" of Irish management then The Irish Times is a prime example of an organisation that somehow or other managed to render itself almost extinct, albeit at the expense of a loyal readership rather than the shareholding public.
As a member of that readership let me wish you well, a status you are unlikely to achieve without proper management, bearing in mind the adage about "people in glasshouses". - Yours, etc.,
JACK NAGLE,
Dartry,
Dublin 6.
