Sir, - In his letter (December 30th) on the above subject, Jack Fitzsimons of Kells, Co Meath, makes an amazing mistake! In his postscript, with regard to the state of old churches throughout the country, he makes the observation "neat and well kept for Presbyterian; dilapidated or needing attention for Protestant". Why make a distinction between "Presbyterian" and "Protestant"? Who may I ask, could be more Protestant than a Presbyterian?
I might add that the late Eamon de Valera was wont to voice the same thoughtless and uninformed assertion! - Yours, etc.,
