Banking and investing in fossil fuels

A chara, – Eoin Burke-Kennedy reports that a staggering €3.2 trillion has been invested in the expansion of fossil fuel extraction by 60 of the world's largest banks in the last five years (Business, March 24th).

Having absorbed the shock of what this can only mean for the future of the planet, one is left imagining what kind of future we could have if equivalent sums had been invested in renewable sources of energy. – Yours, etc,
