Sir, - I read in your paper (September 18th) that all mortgage providers throughout the EU will provide standardised information for potential mortgage borrowers by the beginning of October, the one exception in this country being AIB, which will introduce it a few weeks later.
I recall, as a small current account holder with AIB, that there were delays with the issue of Euro chequebooks for many of its personal customers. I received mine in March 2002.
Is it inefficiency or indifference that allows some bank customers to be treated like this? - Yours, etc.,
