Sir, - Philip Crosby (October 27th) seems to think that because I do not "accept societal breakdown, amorality and barbarity" as "facts of life" that I cannot challenge the world around me. On the contrary, since I did challenge the play Barbaric Comedies (October 20th) I have been met with a barrage of "adult" cynicism.
What Mr Crosby describes as his "open mind" is, in fact, closed to the mind of this 18year-old. Yes I am a child of the 1980s and my letter is proof that children of the 1980s have not closed their minds to "difficult issues and controversial ideas", hence my challenge of Barbaric Comedies. - Yours etc.,
Aisling Murray, Mount Merrion, Co Dublin.
