Sir, - Are we reverting to primeval times? Why do people in this country and climate insist on cooking the primitive way? Despite all their high-tech cooking facilities, they persevere in throwing hunks of meat on a charcoal grill, burning it to cinders. Those who detest this barbaric fashion have to flee inside and keep the windows tightly shut to escape the billowing stench of charred meat and fat.
Are we not exceeding EU pollution levels? Furthermore, why do nutritionists and doctors not point out the dangers of barbecued food? It is carcinogenic and particularly harmful to young children.
Are there are any fellow sufferers out there who commiserate with me? -Yours, etc.,
Anna-Maria Sisk, Trafalgar Terrace, Monkstown, Co Dublin.
