Sir, – Why do politicians need a bar at their place of work? I am unaware of any other business premises where employees can partake of alcohol on the job.
Would this unfettered access to drink at work explain many of the daft decisions made by our elected representatives? Imagine the outcry if there were staff bars at hospitals, schools, Garda stations, factories, etc.
Critical decisions affecting the long-term future of the country should not be made under the influence of drink or any other mind altering substances.
Close the Dáil bar! – Yours, etc,
