Sir, There should be some swift and effective punishment for government agencies which continue to waste taxpayers money on a lost cause. The battle of the Burren tourist facilities is becoming ludicrous. Minister Higgins, by his insistence on furthering the OPW's obsession with Mullaghmore, causes one to wonder who is in charge.
Professor Emer Colleran is right when she says ". . . the Government cannot admit that it made a mistake in rushing ahead to build what is currently on site and feels it must build something there." Childish. isn't it? Perhaps what this project, needs now is a consultant psychiatrist: certainly advice from all the consultant environmentalists is being ignored.
