Madam, - Mr Noel Dempsey is pursuing, with some vigour, evidence of increased productivity before payment of the benchmarking award to teachers. Apart from some short, and sometimes flippant, answers on various TV and radio programmes, I do not recall seeing documented evidence of the increased productivity achieved by the members of the Oireachtas before accepting their own benchmarking award.
To dispel any suggestion of double standards in high places, perhaps an Oireachtas member, of any party, might use your Letters page to clarify this important matter for once and for all. - Yours, etc.,
