Madam, - It is quite depressing to read the property pages of your paper and see all those ads for apartments for sale at reasonable prices in English cities and even closer to home in Belfast. Many such apartments exhibit good design - light, airy and contemporary. And they are in tall blocks - 10 to 20 storeys high.
I cannot understand why Dublin can not emulate these structures and help young people like me get a foothold on the property ladder. Tall is beautiful and there are no reasons why tall apartment blocks should not enhance our urban environment providing secure and stylish living. I ask lobby groups, especially those who are against this kind of development to reconsider their aesthetics and moral responsibilities. - Yours, etc.,
