Sir, – Why are the Irish soccer fans being celebrated for behaving like normal members of a functioning society? Comparison with their English and Russian counterparts is not, in my opinion, adequate justification.
Our fans are behaving well, if behaving well means being lovably lairy in a way that doesn’t require the gendarmerie to deploy pepper-spray. Is this worthy of such rapturous commendation? – Yours, etc,
