Madam, - Ireland is badly served by its banking system. Over the past 20 years, the banks have engaged in systematic corruption, are ineffective as a channel for directing savings into productive investment, are deficient in governance and inefficient in their operations. Their senior executives and boards overpay themselves vastly on the basis on the dubious basis that they're "worth it". Radical reform is long overdue.

The Taoiseach has acted to expel Ms Flynn from Fianna Fáil for unacceptable behaviour. We should expect, as the absolute minimum, strenuous efforts towards rebuke and reform directed at the upper echelons of the banking industry which promoted and rewarded such behaviour. - Yours, etc.,

Madam, - Given that the High Court found that Ms Flynn "assisted and encouraged others to evade tax", should the Revenue Commissioners now institute criminal proceedings against Ms Flynn and her former fellow bankers for assisting people to evade tax? - Yours, etc.,
