Sir, - That's a comical game of chess being played by the two bishops (picture and caption, May 17th). Not only are they both playing from black's end of the board, but the black king is on his queen's square and vice versa.
Moreover, if white goes ahead and places the piece in his hand (which is half-concealed but appears to be his queen) on the b7 square, as seems to be his intention, it will at once be taken by the other bishop's bishop.
