Sir, - On Wednesday, September 9th, I checked my luggage into Shannon Airport en route to the Royal Institute of Architects of Ireland Conference in Helsinki. I travelled by Aer Lingus and British Airways via Heathrow and arrived on Wednesday afternoon to find my luggage had been lost.
Four days later, and five hours before my flight departed from Helsinki, on Sunday September 13th my luggage arrived at my hotel. My luggage was then checked into Helsinki and I travelled by British Airways and Aer Lingus via Heathrow to Shannon, where I landed at approximately 11 p.m. to find the luggage lost again.
While such an event is not unusual enough to feature in any of your "records" letters, I write to suggest that maybe Heathrow is the ideal solution to the problem of disposal of all the world's nuclear waste. - Yours, etc.,
