Madam, - The action of Tony Blair - revealed in your issue of November 2nd - in seeking to have Sinn Féin Ministers expelled from the Northern Executive reflects a very disturbing attitude to the maintenance of the Belfast Agreement.

Of even more concern is the fact that the British Prime Minister appears to have been acting somewhat surreptitiously and without the knowledge or consent of the Irish Government.

It behoves the Taoiseach to seek an assurance from Mr Blair that he will not in future undertake any unilateral action that might destabilise the Agreement in any way. - Yours, etc.,
