'Blueprint for recovery'?

Madam, – It is very kind of the Group of 17 Irish leading gentlemen to offer advice to the Irish Government

Madam, – It is very kind of the Group of 17 Irish leading gentlemen to offer advice to the Irish Government. However, in the interests of transparency and given that they are offering advice on Nama and other property related matters, may I suggest that when submitting their report they make a full declaration of their property and other lobbying/business interests? After all we would not want to see the return of the Galway Tent School of Economics, albeit of a different hue. – Yours, etc,

Madam, – In a business report by Simon Carswell (March 15th) on the new thinktank aimed at putting Ireland back on the economic map, known informally as “Ireland First”, group member Ray MacSharry was referred to in a “who they are” photo caption as a “former Fine Fáil minister”. Now that is a first. – Yours, etc,

Co Dublin.
