Sir, – I am very concerned that the British government is campaigning to bomb Syria with no real objective in mind or plan for the future – it just wants to bomb now. This seems to me very dangerous and can only increase further civilian casualties in Syria and cause greater danger to the UK. I would much rather see the British government taking steps now to stop the flow of money which is funding Islamic State, stop the arms shipments from allies in the Middle East, and then really try diplomatic options in the region and exhaust those before this knee-jerk reaction of “We’ve got a problem in the Middle East. Bomb it.” – Yours, etc,
