Madam, - The national communications company (Eircom) is currently on a vigorous campaign to get customers to sign up to their broadband option. I've been in touch with them on a number of occasions over the past couple of months but because I currently live on top of a hill they tell me that it may be some time before I will be connected.
Their advice is for me to ring back in a couple of weeks and they may have better news.
One would have thought that in this day and age the technology would exist that would allow such cabling to be brought to all parts of the country, both rural and urban.
Eircom tell me that it's to do with the distance I live from the local exchange. . .
The hill I live on is Arbour Hill - less than 2 kilometres from the Halfpenny Bridge! - Yours, etc.,
