Buses and knights in shining armour

Sir, – Minister for Transport Shane Ross is reluctant to intervene in the Dublin Bus dispute "on a white horse in a suit of armour " ("Shane Ross not getting involved in Dublin Bus dispute", September 21st). Perhaps if he experienced travelling on the Nightlink service, he would lend his armour to the driver.

In the meantime, the indifference of our Government to the workers and the people who need public transport can be gauged by their preference for glad-handing at the All-Ireland and the ploughing championships.

It is evidence of an inherent snobbery towards working-class workers and the working class in general. – Yours, etc,
