The big positives from that era included the building of a city-backed stadium in Arlington, tapping into the large local Hispanic fan market and building a team that was leading the American League until the season was cancelled due to a players' strike.
One of baseball's greatest pitchers, Nolan Ryan, played for the club during this time and the new stadium led the majors in attendance averages before the strike. - Yours, etc,
