Sir, – So, a surrender letter written by Patrick Pearse 100 years ago, at the end of the Easter Rising, is to be sold for an estimated €1.5 million (News, April 30th), the letter having been bought 11 years ago for €700,000, and the State is not expected to bid for it. The ultimate price, indeed.
