A chara, – During a recent visit to a Dublin city library, I was approached by a rather sheepish security guard who requested that I not sit and read to my two-year-old child as it was a “public health hazard” due to Covid. The library was empty at the time.
Public health guidelines must be followed but, as I observe people sitting cheek by jowl in restaurants and pubs, I hope that common sense will soon return along with the rest of our liberties. – Yours, etc,
