Sir, – Michael McDowell, (Opinion, December 1st) in his opinion piece on energy policy asserts, "Carbon budgets and other ideological constraints must accommodate realities".
I thought it would have been clear by now that the “pie-in-the-sky” realities of the energy addiction that we have become accustomed to is no longer viable.
We must also adjust our realities to accommodate carbon budgets. Reality has outrun us – it’s time to catch up.
