Sir, - I refer to the article by Frank McDonald on the re-ordering of the cathedral in Carlow. This article continued misrepresentation of the facts: Bishop Ryan does not enjoy the support of the majority in Carlow town. Neither does he have support for the abomination in his diocese for Kildare and Leighlin.The re-ordering engineered by Bishop Ryan and his associates has seen the mosaic floor of the sanctuary covered over. The altar rails have been butchered, and the remnants stored in the basement. The ornate pulpit dedicated to a former bishop has been removed. And one would have to be visually illiterate to accept the fake and pastiche screen behind the high altar.As your published picture shows, it obscures the view of the stained glass windows.
