Sir, - In your player on August 8th, regarding the Carlow Cathedral controversy, Bishop Laurence Ryan states that the parishioners of the cathedral have generally accepted compromise. On the contrary, they have not.

There are groups representing the parishioners who have changes to the sanctuary. Neither the forum nor members of the report group have ever contacted any interested parties at any time to discuss the controversy So how can one compromise with a group you have never met? Even the recommendations of the heritage council are been ignored.
