Sir, – There was a time when the thought of Ireland becoming a cash-free society was an accepted eventuality, with debit and credit cards being used for all levels of commerce.
However, I am finding it increasing difficult to use my card in the local shops.
I cannot use a card to purchase a Lotto ticket, Greyhound refuse and recyclable bags or to pay for utility bills or to top up my Leap transport fare card.
