A chara, – I am very disappointed at the decision to scrap the e-voting machines (Home News, June 30th). The chairperson of the student council in my school, Crana College, wrote to the former ministers for children and the environment and requested that the machines could be stored in secondary schools throughout the country and used for the student council elections, saving the cost of storage and enhancing the voting experience for our students.
Sadly, the request was rejected. However, we now intend contacting the new owner of the machines in the hope that he might donate one to my school. – Is mise,
