Sir, - If the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith is determined to outlaw the term "sister churches" what about "sister-in-law churches" as an alternative? If that would not satisfy its esoteric Christian criteria, maybe "cousin churches" would be acceptable.
The CDF could then speak, condescendingly, of churches that were merely second cousins once-removed; and thereby create an ecclesiology totally removed from this world. - Yours, etc.,
