Sir, - Following recent letters concerning gay pride, refugees, asylum seekers, our north-south history, and other situations that often cause rather heated debate, I feel Irish people are moving forward in a positive manner. We are, for the most part, becoming far more tolerant, accepting and understanding of such issues that affect everyone, every day, in some form or another.
I await the day when we are not just tolerant but when we will enjoy and celebrate the diversity of human, political and social circumstances that touch us constantly. Tolerance is one thing; celebrating each other's diversities is indeed another. - Yours, etc.,
Gareth Kelly, Zenettistrasse, 80337 Muenchen, Germany.
