Central Bank golden ball

Sir, – There is a plan to move the golden ball outside the Central Bank to the new building at a cost of half a million euros.

Could I suggest an alternative plan? Why not cut it up and melt it down, then use the metal to make the word “sorry” and place it over the front door of the new Central Bank head office to remind everyone who enters the building of the role that they played in the destruction of the Irish economy. – Yours, etc, AIDAN COYLE Dalkey, Co Dublin.
