Sir, - As a 17-year-old secondary school student, my status as a "child" prohibits me from buying alcohol and voting. Why, then, does CIE label me a mature adult and charge me almost double the fare demanded of real children - those who are 15 and younger?
I would be most grateful if this complex logic could be explained to me; nobody I know seems to understand it. - Yours, etc.,
David Hughes, Bray, Co Wicklow.
