Sir, - The emphasis in the recent report on childcare by the expert working group seems to be mainly on money. There is very little mention of children's needs, and no word at all about children's rights.
Some people, experts even, would say (albeit perhaps in whispers) that children, particularly those under school going age who haven't yet passed through the basic developmental milestones, have a need and a right to be looked after and reared by their own parents.-Yours, etc., Edward Hanlon,
