Sir, I don't often take the opportunity to write to The Irish Times, though I do think of it. This time, however, I felt I should.
I have only just learnt of the loss of Christina Murphy, a person who meant a lot to many people. As I am sure a lot of people around the age of twenty feel, Christina's death was somewhat of a shock I had not known of her illness although I realise I am in the minority. But also she meant a great deal to the vast amount of us who gained from her helpful advice in the numerous articles and supplements in your news paper to do with college and the CAO.
She will be sadly missed by many of us who feel that a little piece of our personal histories is gone forever. Many of us were, in our time of most confusion, helped by her, and for that I am eternally grateful. Thanks, Christina. Yours etc Gilford Road, Sandymount, Dublin 4.
