Madam, - Mr Martin Cullen has stated that Dublin need not worry about losing 10,000 civil and public servants as the Government would create as many replacement positions. Would it not be more logical to locate these new positions in the out-of-Dublin locations and save enormous amounts of stress, frustration, depression, disillusionment, inefficiency, reduced services, inflated property prices in the chosen towns and finally cost to the taxpayer, which is estimated conservatively by your own John McManus to be €3.5 billion.

Or were Mr Cullen's remarks just more "auld guff " for us gullible Dubliners to swallow. - Yours, etc.,
