Sir, – Colm Keaveney TD seems to be chairman of a parallel Labour Party (“Coalition strained over proposed health cuts”, Front page, September 3rd). He accepts no responsibility for, and indeed seems to distance himself from, the hard decisions his party colleagues have to take on issues such as health cuts, property charges and college fees.
Maybe it’s time for him to resign again from the Labour Party and take up Clare Daly’s recently vacated position in the Socialist Party, where idealism is unfettered by the need for pragmatic action. – Yours, etc,
