Madam, – During these difficult weather conditions much praise has been rightly dished out to those who have cleared footpaths and checked on elderly neighbours. One group which has gone unnoticed is your own staff who have still managed to get the papers ready for distribution daily, so we can all still enjoy our daily indulgence of a coffee and The Irish Times. They must be commended for their efforts.
However, I would also like to acknowledge the amazing efforts of our local newspaper vendor who has had the paper on the door step every morning in all weathers before 6am. Many of us pass 10 shops or more a day where we can purchase an Irish Times, but instead choose to avail of a local delivery service. This is because without our continued support local vendors will not be able to keep up the amazing service they provide to all those elderly and infirm who are now stranded in their homes.
I do hope The Irish Timesappreciates and acknowledges the great work carried out by your ambassadors like Liam Bolton. He is truly an unsung hero of our times and indeed The Irish Times. – Yours, etc,
