Sir, Live Theatre and musical performances can at times be uplifting and memorable, but never have I left a theatre as disgusted and angry as I did last week. Tom McIntyre's "satirical farce", performed in our noble Everyman Palace Theatre, was distasteful and hurtful to the memory of "The Big Fella" and to both sides of the Civil War.

It would appear to be fashionable to make a caricature of de Valera's memory, but this stage Oirish, historically inaccurate work, dealing in part with the women in Collins life, is even harder to comprehend when it is endorsed and performed by the Abbey Theatre. My great discomfort is towards the content and not the actors, of which there were a few, amongst the cast. - Yours, etc.
