Sir, – Byna Twomey (Letters, July 30th) believes that women are coming on to the world stage to clean up after the men. Among the tasks ahead of them are, she writes, "End destructive wars and make peace with the neighbours. Bind up societies wounds." I wonder if she is old enough to remember Margaret Thatcher? – Yours, etc.
