Sir, - Donal O Morain (January 5th) tells us how he and certain other members of the RTE authority saw to it that RTE made adequate preparations for thecommemoration of the 1916 Rising in 1966 and that, as a result, "memorable material" was produced.
"Memorable" it most certainly was - and no doubt that description would be enthusiastically endorsed by the IRA and other nationalist extremists of the subsequent 30 years. Commemoration too can be overdone.
Maybe Mr O Morain could devote some of his spare time in a happy retirement to re-calculating the victims of 1916? - Yours, etc.,
