Madam, - The best way to commemorate Tony Gregory would be for the parties of the left, which already have the support of over 30 per cent of voters, to come together, as he suggested, and provide the electorate with the option of a real alternative government at the next election. - Is mise,

Madam, - Sackville Place connects Marlborough Street with O'Connell Street and runs parallel to North Earl Street and Abbey Street. It takes its name from Lionel Cranfield Sackville, first Duke of Dorset and Lord Lieutenant of Ireland in the 1740s. Dublin's main thoroughfare, O'Connell Street, also used to bear the name of Sackville.
If it was seen fit to rename Sackville Street as O'Connell Street in 1924, perhaps Dublin City Council might consider renaming Sackville Place as Tony Gregory Place today. It would be a fitting memorial to a man who worked so hard for the poor of the north inner city. - Yours, etc,
