Sir, - Sean English (December 28th) writes of his three unsolicited Christmas cards from a local TD. It could be worse. In the past two weeks I have received 28 cards (all in Oireachtas envelopes), four pens, two CDs, and one pocket calculator.
All of these arrived courtesy of senators whose names I barely recognised, and whom I do not believe I have ever met.
One could be forgiven for thinking that there is an election in the air. - Yours, etc.
